Magic Matariki Art

Kia Ora Bloggers,

As you may know Matariki is almost here which represents Maori new year. Matariki is on the 20th of June this year. Since Matariki is so close we have been working on making some art. To make this art we started by drawing a plan on a piece of A4 paper we actually had to draw our plan the opposite way around because at the end when we print it it would come out the right way. After we had done that we would get that checked by a teacher and grab a piece of A4 foam. we would copy our design onto the piece of foam in order to see our design with the print at the end we had to draw on the foam with a pen and push a little hard so that it would make a dent. After that we would put different colour print (print is like paint) and we would roll that print on with a paint roller. Once we had done that we would grab a piece of A3 paper a press the foam onto that. We had to then let our piece of A3 paper dry for about a week.  Now today we had to cut out a square that would fit our art around it. This is my finished product and it took around three weeks to finish. I hope you have had a good time looking at my art. If you have any questions about my art please ask me in the comments. What are you planning on doing for Matariki. Byee

Egg Experiment

Hey Bloggers, Today we did some Experiments with an egg. I was in a group with Alexi, Sophie, Abby, Daisy and I. Our teacher had only given us 3 pieces of A4 paper, 1 piece of A5 paper, 1 meter of string, 2 peices of long tape and a plastic bag. We had to find a way to protect our egg because we were going to drop it from a 3 meter loft. First we rapped our egg in our paper and then we put it in our plastic bag. After that the put tape all over the plastic bag, paper and egg. then we tyed the string over the bag and egg. Sadly our egg did not survive the fall. How do you like your eggs? Tell me in the comments. Bye!

The night of the broken glass

Hey bloggers,
For a couple of weeks now my literary group and I have been reading a book about the Holocaust and world war 2. We are reading a book called Once by Morris Gleitzman. while we have been reading Once we have also been making a site. I made mine about the night of the broken glass because I wanted to know more. The night of the broken glass was the 9th and 10th of November 1938. This was a very sad and horrible night for Jewish people and one they would never forget. I have been enjoying making this site and finding more info about The night of the broken glass.would you stick up for Jewish people if you were alive in world war 2? Put your answer in the comments. Bye! big pp

Hundentwasser Art

Hey Bloggers,
Every Wednesday my year 7 and 8 class goes to tech. we have two different groups one morning group and one afternoon group. I am in the afternoon group witch means that I am at school all morning. Usually in the mornings my group does art and quizzes . So for the past couple of weeks we have been doing a different kind of art which is hundentwasser art. This is a kind of art that has no straight lines. With Hundentwasser art there are lots of things you have to add into your art. You have to have  hidden faces, houses, trees, hidden eyes, rain drops and lots more. In my art I have mostly everything. I hope your have enjoyed having a look at what I have been working on And I hope you can comment on what I need to work on. Thank you! bye.
